International Student Math Placement

All new international undergraduate students must enroll in mathematics in their first semester unless they are exempt. In order for us to place you in the appropriate mathematics course your first semester, you need to complete the ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (ALEKS PPL) assessment.

ALEKS PPL consists of three parts:

  1. An Initial Placement Assessment.
  2. The Prep and Learning Module, an individualized, self-paced review.
  3. Access to additional proctored assessments.

ALEKS PPL assessment is a free assessment that is available online 24 hours each day regardless of your time zone.

  • Once your Wildcat Portal account is activated, proceed to Step 1
  • If you are unable to activate your Wildcat Portal account in your home country, do so immediately once you arrive in the U.S. and then proceed to Step 1.

Students who do not take the assessment and are not exempt will be blocked from enrolling in classes until they do take a proctored assessment.
