American Indian Studies Lecture

The American Indian Studies Lecture, “On Whose Authority? Social Justice for the Nor Rel Muk Wintu Tribe and Their Fight for Federal Recognition”, with Professor Vanessa Esquivido will be happening next week from 4:00-5:30 pm in Chico State's Colusa Hall Room 100A.

"What happens if we stop playing by the rules and throw the Federal Acknowledgment Process (FAP) out the window? Whose authority do non-federally recognized tribes ask to become recognized or better yet, should recognized tribes determine this acknowledgment of other tribal sovereigns?"

Professor Esquivido will be answering these questions and discussing how and why the national master narrative continues to ignore and obscure Native American voices and truths.

Come join us for this awesome experience and grab some pizza and refreshments while you're there!
