Interns to Projects
Many Chico State engineering students perform internships, particularly over the summer between their junior and senior years. In the "Interns to Projects" model, companies hire a rising senior student for a summer internship, then sponsor a capstone design project in the following academic year. If requested by the company, the student is automatically assigned to the design team for that company's project. This allows for continuity in the student/employer relationship and can also facilitate continuation of specific project work for the student beyond the summer internship.
Sponsors interested in pursuing this model should contact the program coordinator during the spring or early summer to discuss specific project requirements and procedures.
