Dan Kinkle, MA

Dan Kinkle is the percussion instructor/coordinator at California State University, Chico, teaching studio instruction, percussion ensemble, and music education classes. Kinkle has had the honor of performing with the following legendary artists: Frank DiSalvo, singing and celebrating the legacy of Sinatra, Martin and the Great American Song Book at the Indian Wells Resort Hotel in Indian Wells, CA, (Palm Springs); Nelson Riddle Orchestra; Smothers Brothers; Kathy Lee Gifford; Merle Haggard; Vincent Herring; Jose’ Rossy; Dianne Reeves; Richie Cole; Rob McConnel; Ladd Macintosh; Don Menza; Mark Murphy; Gene Peurling; Brad Turner; and the Los Angeles Brass Quintet. During the 1980’s, Kinkle performed on Commodore Cruise Lines and Carnival Cruise Lines. Kinkle has also performed with the CSU, Chico Spring Musicals, North State Symphony, Chico Symphony Orchestra, Redding Symphony, Renaissance Apollo Orchestra, CSU, Chico Wind Ensemble/Jazz Express, University Recitals, Alfred Loeffler New Music Symposium, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer George Crumb.

Dan attended CSU, Nothridge & CSU, Chico, (BA/MA), where he studied Percussion with Joel Leach, (CSUN), Barry Silverman, (Los Angeles Philharmonic) and Stan Lunetta (Sacramento Symphony). Mr. Kinkle teaches Music, Grades K-8, for the Corning Union Elementary School District. His assignment for C.U.E.S.D. includes Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced Bands, ChorusRecorder Ensemble and Classroom Music. Kinkle has been a Corning Elementary Faculty Association Teacher of the Year, CEFA Vice President, District Mentor Teacher, Middle School Student Body Advisor, Site Council Member, Grant Writer and Visual And Performing Arts Committee Member. Mr. Kinkle is an adjunct Faculty member at CSU, Chico, teaching Studio Instruction, Percussion Ensemble and Music Education Classes.

Dan teaches Percussion Lessons at Bernie’s Guitar in Redding, and also performs on a regular basis with: Swing City, Skyliners Big Band, Charles Valona Trio, Holly Taylor Trio, & the Linda Regan All-Star Band

Dan has had the honor of performing with the following legendary artists: Sherri Lewis, Les Elgart, Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Smothers Brothers, Kathy Lee Gifford, Merle Haggard, Vincent Herring, Jose’ Rossy, Dianne Reeves, Walt Blanton, Richie Cole, Rob McConnel, Ladd Macintosh, Don Menza, Mark Murphy, Gene Peurling, Brad Turner, Roger Emerson, and the Los Angeles Brass Quintet. Mr. Kinkle has also performed with the CSU, Chico Spring Musicals, North State Symphony, (Principal Percussionist), Chico Symphony Orchestra, Redding Symphony, Renaissance Apollo Orchestra, CSUC Wind Ensemble/Jazz Express, University Recitals and the Alfred Loeffler New Music Symposium. Mr. Kinkle has performed and recorded under the direction of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer George Crumb at CSU, Chico. Mr. Kinkle is a member of the California Teachers Association, California Faculty Association, and the Percussive Arts Society.
