Linda Snodgrass, MA

Linda Snodgrass holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts (Vocal Performance, Conducting) from CSU, Chico.

She is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.  She was a founder of the  Sierra North Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.   Linda has been an instructor at CSU, Chico since 1997, teaching Studio Voice for Music and Music Theatre majors, Vocal Diction and Literature, and Voice classes.  As an instructor at Butte College for 14 years, she taught voice and music theory, and was musical theater coach and conductor for many musical theater productions including: Brigadoon, Once Upon a Mattress, Cabaret, Quilt, and The Goodbye Girl.   For Chico City Light Opera she was a performer, vocal coach, and music director for many productions including:  Into the Woods, Pirates of Penzance, Camelot, Oliver, and Die Fledermaus.  She taught voice for CORE Charter School and her private voice studio.

Linda has directed excellent church choirs for 23 years.  She has participated in many voice workshops nationwide, including in Washington, Minnesota, Oberlin, San Francisco and Los Angeles (with Richard Miller, Sherill Milnes, Paul Kiesgan, Robin Fisher, Christine Abraham, Wesley Balk) and has participated as clinician and adjudicator for MENC, CMEA, and Young Artists Auditions for North State Symphony and Paradise Symphony in Northern California.

She has performed many leading opera roles including: Pamina in The Magic Flute, Susannah in The Marriage of Figaro, Mimi in La Boheme, Belinda in Dido and Aeneus, both Rosalinda and Adele in Die Fledermaus, and both Moth and Rosaline in Love’s Labors Lost.  She has also performed art song recitals and as an oratorio soloist.
