Christian Friedland, president and founder of Build.com, will give a free lecture Thursday, Sept. 29, at 6 p.m. in the BMU Auditorium as part of the fall 2011 Executive Lecture Series by California State University, Chico’s College of Business.

Friedland, a CSU, Chico alumnus, will discuss his experiences as a young entrepreneur and help kick off a Chico State Business Concept Competition, where students will compete for a prize in producing the best business plan.

Friedland received his B.A. in political science and completed core graduate studies in computer science at CSU, Chico. He has also lectured frequently on entrepreneurship at the College of Business as well as at other universities. Friedland was a featured speaker at the 2008 Internet Retailer Conference.
