More than 1,600 prospective students and parents are expected for Admitted Student Preview Day at California State University, Chico on Saturday, April 9.

Hosted by CSU, Chico’s Office of Admissions, the open house event gives prospective students and their families an opportunity to visit the campus and to tour downtown. Students can talk directly with faculty and staff and visit with current students.

The day starts in the Bell Memorial Union Auditorium at 8 a.m. with registration and a welcome from President Paul Zingg, and it runs until 3 p.m.

The day’s activities include campus tours, a trolley tour of the city of Chico and meetings with representatives from various colleges and departments.

“This day was created to help students make their final decision about what college to attend,” said Wendy Needels, assistant director, Office of Admissions. “Because of the statewide budget situation, college admission across the state has become much more selective and competitive. We want to help students make the right decision and show them why Chico State might be the best choice for them.”

Admitted students can register by April 1 at http://www.csuchico.edu/admissions. For more information, call the Office of Admissions at 530-898-6322 or 1-800-542-4426 or e-mail Info@csuchico.edu.
