Lecture to Address ‘World of Islam’

A lecture and discussion about Islam, its relationship with other religions, and contemporary issues related to Islam and Muslims in the U.S. will be held Tuesday, March 13 in the BMU Auditorium.

“The World of Islam” event will start at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Imam Sayed Moustafa al-Qazwini, co-chair of the West Coast Muslim-Catholic Dialogue and a senior adviser for the United Muslim American Association, will speak at the event. He will address questions such as: Is Islam a threat to America? What do people know about Islam? What are the commonalities between Islam and Christianity?

Some Middle Eastern appetizers and Arabic coffee and tea will be served at the event, and there will be a drawing for two iPod Shuffles.

The event is co-sponsored by AS Multicultural Affairs and the Great Prophet Mohammed Association (GPMA), a recognized student organization.
