Author, Stanford professor and business consultant Mark Morgan will be the keynote speaker at the California State University, Chico Project Management Group’s Spring Project Forum Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. in Colusa Hall.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the CSU, Chico Department of Management at 898-5663.

Morgan is co-author of “Executing Your Strategy” and “Executing Your Business Transformation” and is CEO of StratEx Advisors Inc.

CSU, Chico management professor Sean Morgan, no relation to Mark Morgan, said “Executing Your Strategy” is used extensively in the College of Business Project Management program. “The principals of strategy execution are important to organizations of all types, and I am certain you will come away with applicable concepts that will benefit your own organization,” he said.

Morgan said Greg Kiefer of Sacramento-based Kiefer Consulting will also speak at the forum. He said he expects approximately 150 students in attendance as well as some local business and city leaders.

The Project Management Group (PMG), which puts on the forum, is a CSU, Chico student organization formed to allow students in the project management discipline to gain project experience outside the classroom. PMG students have worked on projects with Microsoft, Kiefer Consulting, the Project Management Institute, Sutter North Medical Co., the Chico Fire Department and the Save Bidwell Mansion Coalition. The PMG has approximately 30 members.
