More than 3,500 admitted fall 2013 students and their family members are expected to visit California State University, Chico for Choose Chico! on Saturday, April 6.

Hosted by CSU, Chico’s Office of Admissions, the open house event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. allows students who have been admitted for the fall 2013 semester as well as their families to experience the campus firsthand and interact with faculty, staff and current students.

The day starts with registration at the BMU Auditorium and other sites and a welcome from CSU, Chico President Paul Zingg at 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. in Laxson Auditorium. Other activities include tours of the campus and the city, a Student Involvement Fair, Financial Aid and University Housing presentations, and meetings with representatives from various colleges and departments.

“Choose Chico! is a great event and gives students and families the chance to see what outstanding academic opportunities are available along with what a beautiful campus we have here at Chico State,” said Wendy Needels, assistant director, Office of Admissions. “Making a decision on what college to attend can be difficult, but on this day, we all work to help make that decision a little easier. Chico State is a great choice!”
