Educational Talent Search and MESA Schools Programs Host Senior Admissions Seminar

California State University, Chico’s TRiO Educational Talent Search and MESA Schools Program will hold their annual Senior Admissions Seminar workshop for program participants on Tuesday, Sept. 30, in the Bell Memorial Union from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event will provide an array of workshops that will cover topics including the college application process, choosing a major and studying abroad.

Students from 15 area high schools who will be applying to a variety of higher learning institutions have been invited to the event.

Event coordinators Javier Garcia and Oscar Mendoza said, “Senior Admissions Seminar is intended to not only help high school seniors to take action towards their goal of college but also to dream. The annual Educational Talent Search event helps students prepare for college by providing access to representatives from the UC [University of California], CSU, CCC [California Community Colleges] and support programs.”

The CSU, Chico TRiO Educational Talents Search and MESA Schools programs are committed to preparing and motivating low-income and first-generation students for success in postsecondary education. The programs serve 1,500 students.
