Luncheon Honors Outstanding Retired Faculty, Staff

The fifth annual Retired Faculty and Staff Hall of Honor event will be held Thursday, May 15, at Manzanita Place, starting at 11 a.m. The event recognizes special individuals who have made lasting contributions to California State University, Chico and the Chico community.

The CSU, Chico Emeritus and Retired Faculty and Staff Association (ERFSA) hosts the event and chooses the honorees for their contributions to the campus and community over many years.

This year’s Hall of Honor honorees are

  • Glenn Kendall, 1950-1966, President, Deceased: 2003
  • William (Steve) Stephens, 1963-1994, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
  • Persis Sturges, 1964-1983, Professor of Psychology
  • Carol Burr, 1970-2004, Professor of English
  • Norma Jones, 1951-1956, 1961-1964, 1967-1971, 1972-1983, Administrative Assistant
  • Linda MacMichael, 1974-2012, Director of Admissions
  • Robert “Bob” Pentzer, 1976-1996, Public Affairs Officer
  • Richard “Dick” Sorenson, 1960-1983, Electrical Division Supervisor in Plant Operations, Deceased: 2014

CSU, Chico President Paul Zingg and Jim Richmond, ERFSA president and professor emeritus, will provide introductory remarks at the luncheon.

Tickets are available for $25 at the University Box Office, located in Sierra Hall at the corner of 3rd and Chestnut Streets.
