Campus Hosts Special Event Honoring Veterans

California State University, Chico will once again host a special event on campus saluting veterans prior to the Veterans Day holiday, Wednesday, Nov. 11.

“Honoring Our Veterans” will take place Monday, Nov. 9, in Colusa Hall, 100A, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

All faculty, staff, student, alumni and community member veterans will be honored at the event for their dedicated service to our country. Guest speakers will include CSU, Chico President Paul Zingg and student veterans Kenneth Kelso, Megan Monokian and James Smith. Larry Langwell, coordinator of Veterans Affairs at CSU, Chico, will serve as master of ceremonies.

Activities will include a musical tribute to all the military branches and a special cake-cutting ceremony involving the youngest and oldest veterans in attendance. Refreshments will be served after the event.
