California State University, Chico construction management professor Lori Brown was named president of the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) professional organization on Feb. 1, 2015.

ASC is an interdisciplinary organization that draws members from many different fields of construction. It is devoted to promoting high achievement in the curricula, teaching, research and service of construction management programs nationwide.

Brown was previously the first vice president of the organization and has worked closely with ASC for many years organizing the annual student competition in which CSU, Chico students regularly compete.

She took over as president of ASC after the resignation of the former president, Brian Moore, and expressed her eagerness to begin working as ASC president in a letter she wrote to the board of directors.

“As 1st Vice President, I enthusiastically accept the opportunity and responsibility to complete Dr. Moore’s term of office to be followed by my elected term,” she wrote.
