The Northern California Educational Leadership Consortium (NorCal ELC) is a partnership among California State University, Chico, Humboldt State University, Chico Unified School District, and Abeo School Change, LLC. NorCal ELC serves the eleven northernmost counties of California, the Shasta Region, a large mostly rural, sparsely populated area similar in size to the entire state of Ohio.
Chico State and Humboldt State, prepare many educators who staff schools of the region. Both were established as state normal schools - Chico in 1887; Humboldt in 1913. Chico Unified School District is one of the largest school districts in the region. Abeo School Change is an innovative education professional learning (PL) provider. These partners have staff with extensive experience, school leadership expertise, professional connections, a commitment to student and school success, and an understanding of the unique conditions that challenge educators in Northern California. NorCal ELC works to enhance, improve, and expand local and regional efforts to support educational leaders.
