Joseph Pechkis, PhD

Dr. Pechkis is an experimental atomic physicist who studies ultracold gases. He was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC where he studied cold atoms in hollow optical fibers for precision sensors.

As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Joint Quantum Institute of the University of Maryland and NIST in the group of Nobel laureate Dr. William D. Phillips, he studied ultracold alkaline earth gases. He is currently Assistant Professor of Physics at CSUC.
