How to Apply

To apply for the Basic BSN Program, you need to complete two separate applications:

  1. Apply to CSU, Chico (Cal State Apply(opens in new window) Online Application System)
  2. Apply to the School of Nursing (NursingCAS(opens in new window) Online Application System)

The CSU, Chico and NursingCAS applications are separate and have their own processes and deadlines. 

Students MUST submit their official transcripts (and AP scores, if applicable) to BOTH Cal State Apply AND NursingCAS. 

Important! Only students who meet the CSU, Chico School of Nursing application requirements and the applicable university deadlines above (or are currently enrolled in courses at CSU, Chico) are eligible to submit a supplemental application through NursingCAS.

Step I. Apply to CSU, Chico

Apply to CSU, Chico via the Cal State Apply during the university’s applicable filing period, indicated below.

Fall Semester

October 1 - November 30 of the preceding year. 

Spring Semester

August 1 - August 31 of the preceding year.

Step II. Apply to the School of Nursing

Apply to the School of Nursing (NursingCAS)(opens in new window)

Apply to the CSU, Chico School of Nursing on NursingCAS. Click "Apply Now” and follow the instructions to create an account or access your existing account. NursingCAS charges a first time application fee of $50. After that, subsequent applications are assessed a fee of $35.

Spring Semester

August 15 - 8:59 pm PST October 8

Admission Decision Announcements

Emails regarding point status will be sent to each applicant’s address of record in NursingCAS.

December 1 - December 15

Returning Applicants

Ensure that you keep your admission status active during the timeframe between application cycles or to re-apply to the university if you cancel your enrollment status.
