The School of Nursing has proposed a change to the current supplemental admission criteria. The current criteria favors students with a very high GPA and excellent test scores. We propose moving to a holistic supplemental admission criteria that takes into account certain experiences and attributes which contribute towards student success in nursing school as well as success in the nursing profession.
The School of Nursing also recognizes the need to address the shortage of nurses in our rural communities in northern California; therefore, we have proposed to increase the admissions priority for our local service area and Chico State students.
