W-Wildcat Moment: My proudest moment at Chico State so far has been learning how to be independent. Coming to Chico, I was worried about being able to take care of myself. I’m impressed with my ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle while living away from my family and having to sustain work and school.
I-Involvement: I have been involved in many different places on campus. I am currently a group exercise instructor; I teach yoga and pilates and guided meditation. I have also been a mentor on campus through a program called FLO. I was able to help students become better acquainted with Chico State. Lastly, I have been able to work with Orientation to guide incoming students and answer any questions they have before starting their first semester.
L-Live: I am from Fontana, California.
D-Degree: I am a Liberal Studies major with a minor in Math Education. I plan on teaching middle school math and science.
C-Chico: I chose Chico for a couple of reasons. A memory that always stands out to me is when I was touring colleges in the spring of my senior year of high school, I went on a road trip and visited all the CSUs I applied to. On day one of my trip it was rainy and gloomy with no students on any of the campuses. When I got to Chico State on the last day of the road trip, it was finally sunny and students were laughing while playing games on the lawn. I knew that Chico was the right choice.
A-Aspirations: In the future, I hope I can have a successful career as a teacher. I have such a passion for being a support system to those who need it. In my opinion, teachers can be some of the most influential people in a student’s life. I hope I can set a good example for students and motivate them to not give up.
T-Tell: I am a very expressive person. I love to express myself in any way I can whether
that is through clothes, hair, accessories, etc.
