GurpalYear - 3rd yearMajor - Environmental Science, option in Applied EcologyW-Wildcat Moment:I think my proudest moment here at Chico State was when I finally declared my major. I was undeclared for about 3 semesters and was trying to find something I would really enjoy doing not just as a career but that actually sounded interesting to me. Finally, at the end of the Fall 23 semester I met with my advisor and declared my major!I-Involvement:While living in Whitney hall I was part of COCO (Community Council) which worked closely with RHA (Residence Hall Association) to act as a voice for anyone living in student housing. I am also actively involved with the Women of Excellence program as well as the Bloom Mentorship program which both aim to empower, guide and support women of color. Additionally, I am a dedicated member of Zeta Sigma Chi Multicultural Sorority, Inc., which is part of the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and I currently hold leadership positions in both the Panjabi Club and the Asian Student Union.L-Live:I was born and raised in the Bay Area, specifically Hayward, CA.D-Degree:I am currently trying to get my Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Science with the option in Applied Ecology.C-Chico:I chose Chico because I wanted to go somewhere a little further away from home to gain new experiences and I’d heard good things about the campus and student life.A-Aspirations:My goals and aspirations are constantly changing but right now a goal I have set for myself is to figure out what I want to do with a degree in Environmental Science and to get more involved in my field of study. I also want to travel and gain new experiences while I can in college!T-Tell:A little fun fact about me is that I despise waking up early and I'm a huge night owl. I once stayed up for 3 consecutive days without sleeping.
