New Student Orientation & Transition Programs

Daily Schedule

7:30 am
Calculus Readiness Test begins in Bell Memorial Union (BMU) for students who have chosen Majors Requiring the CRT.  This test is only needed if students intend to take Calculus in fall.
8:00 am

Check-in begins in the Bell Memorial Union (BMU) Plaza.

Plan to arrive in advance and allow plenty of time for parking. Use this time to get your Wildcat ID Card, register for OrgSync-the student involvement portal, connect with Orientation peer advisors, and check out the Chico State Wildcat Store!
9:00 am
Orientation Program begins in the BMU Auditorium for all students and their parents/guests.
10:00 am
Students are broken into small, major related groups while parents and guests attend a separate workshop.
If you arrive after 10:00 a.m., you will be too late to participate in the Summer Orientation Program and refunds cannot be given.
12:00 pm
Lunch in the BMU Auditorium- Students, parents, and guests lunch together. A resource fair will be available to all participants during this hour.
1:00 pm
Students go back into their major related groups to receive registration instructions and faculty advising. Parents/guests have several choices of workshops during this time period.
4:00 pm
Orientation will conclude in the BMU Auditorium. Students, parents and guests all attend program conclusion with refreshments and an opportunity for any final questions.
4:30 pm
Optional Residence Hall Tour or WREC Tour will depart from the BMU Auditorium.

Notes:

  • A detailed schedule of the full day’s program, for the parent/guest sessions and the student agenda, will be available to participants upon arrival.
  • Students are required to attend the entire program to be able to register for classes today. Please plan your schedule accordingly.
  • If you are taking the Calculus Readiness Test, please make sure to read your confirmation email for information regarding the test schedule and location.

Program Fees

  • $60 per student
  • $60 per parent and/or guest

Program includes:

  • Coffee, water, and orange juice during the Morning Check-In
  • Buffet-Style Lunch in the BMU Auditorium
  • Refreshments at Program Conclusion
  • Program Materials
