Before Orientation:
- Get your Wildcat ID Card! - AT LEAST one week before your Orientation session. - (opens in new window)Upload your photo(opens in new window) at least ONE WEEK before your Orientation Day (in-person attendees) to receive on your Orientation Day. Virtual Orientation attendees- visit the Wildcat ID Card office in Meriam Library Room 142 to pick up your ID card.
- Set up Duo(opens in new window), an authentication service that provides an additional level of security and is required for Chico State Students.
- First-Year - Complete the Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE), Participation is voluntary and confidential. Information is used by your advisors, faculty and staff at your institution. See the informed consent(opens in new window) for more details. If you agree to take part in this survey, click on the "agree to participate" statement.
- Complete mandatory online training: Chico State Student Strategies for Reducing Alcohol-Related Harm (can complete now)(opens in new window) and Title IX Training(coming soon)(opens in new window).
- Financial Aid- View and accept/decline, your award offer. In your Portal Account, enter your Student Center, scroll to Finances and click View Financial Aid. Questions, contact The Financial Aid & Scholarship Office(opens in new window).
- Online Pre-Modules (Beginning June 2)- The online advising modules will help you prepare for your upcoming advising and orientation experiences. By completing these modules, you will be better prepared for your Pre-Orientation advising session and Orientation. Log into your Student Center(opens in new window) and select “Canvas”.
- Submit immunization records - Submit immunization records and complete the assessment in the patient portal. Additional information can be found here(opens in new window).
- Follow @chicostatesummero to connect with your classmates and stay current on the latest information!
After Orientation:
- Pay your fees or have sufficient Pending Financial Aid by the fee payment due date of July 30th. Ensure you have updated your FAFSA to reflect Chico State. Learn more about paying fees, at Student Financial Services(opens in new window).
- Submit final transcripts to Admissions. Log into your Student Center (go to the Chico State webpage(opens in new window), select portal, then Student Center). and check your To-Do list for any remaining items. Remaining check list items may prevent you from registering for classes during your session.
- Become familiar with Canvas. Canvas(opens in new window) is the learning management system where students find the content provided by their instructors of their past and present classes.
- Housing -Check your living assignments if you are living in University Housing(opens in new window) or visit Campus Pads(opens in new window) if living off campus.
- Order Textbooks -Visit the Wildcat Store(opens in new window) website to order your textbooks.
- Make the most of your college experience(opens in new window). Search over 200 campus clubs and organizations.
- Get Ready for Wildcat Welcome!(opens in new window)
- Classes begin on Monday, August 25th!
