Orientation & New Student Programs

Transfer Checklist

Before Orientation:

  • Financial Aid-If you have applied for financial aid, be sure to view and accept, or decline, your award offer. In your Portal Account, enter your Student Center, scroll to Finances and click View Financial Aid. Questions, contact Financial Aid. 
  • Pre-Orientation Online. You can find the  Pre-Orientation program Completing the 45 minuteprogram will help you be prepared for your Orientation session. If you have not yet completed the program online please do at least 2 days prior to Orientation.  
  • Participants who need special accommodations - Contact Summer Orientation at least 5 days prior to your scheduled session.
  • Become familiar with Zoom.Virtual orientation will be delivered via a platform called Zoom. If you are unfamiliar with Zoom, you can watch our introduction video here.    
  • Follow @ChicoStateTransfer2023 to connect with your classmates and stay current on the latest information!  
  • Please note: If you have outstanding coursework and/or units required needed to meet your admission requirements, you will not be able to register for classes at Orientation until your final grade(s) are submitted to Admissions.

After Orientation:

  • Submit final transcripts to Admissions. Log into your Student Center (go to the Chico State webpage, select portal, then Student Center). and check your To-Do list for any remaining items. Due by February 15th, 2021!
  • Pay your fees or have sufficient Pending Financial Aid by the fee payment due date. Learn more about fees, viewing your Student Center, and financial aid disbursements and refunds at Student Financial Services.
  • Visit the Wildcat Store website to order your textbooks.
  • Complete the online Alcohol Edu and Not Anymore programs. They will become available two weeks before the semester starts. (You can access the link through your Portal.)
  • Make the most of your college experience. Search over 200 campus clubs and organizations.
  • COVID Vaccine Self Certification. To meet the CSU's COVID-19 vaccine requirement. Chico State has set-up a self-certification portal where students log-in and certify to 1) being fully vaccinated; 2) qualifying for a religious exemption; 3) qualifying for a medical exemption; or 4) not planning to access campus facilities at all. Visit portal.csuchico.edu, login, and click on Student Center. All students must login, choose, and submit one of those four options. Students who have questions can email eoc@csuchico.edu.
  • Classes begin Monday, January 24th, 2022!
