New Student Orientation & Transition Programs

Orientation Parking

Campus Parking

Since school is in session, campus parking maybe limited. Orientation participants may park at no cost (as space is available) in a "G" space in one of two designated parking structures only:

Parking Structure #1: located at 1st and Ivy Streets

Parking Structure #2: located at 2nd and Cherry Streets

If these structures are full, your best bet is to pay for off-campus parking through the City of Chico:either metered street parking, or the City of Chico parking lot at 2nd and Salem Streets

Orientation participants may park for the day in other campus structures (see Map of campus parking) for the hourly rate of $1. A permit is required for each day. Please park your car according to campus regulations or risk receiving a ticket. For more details, please visit our Parking page.

  • You must park in spaces labeled G or FS
  • If you park in restricted parking spaces without the proper permit or in any area designated as reserved, your vehicle may be ticketed.
  • Parking is limited so you may wish to arrive early to secure a spot in the structure.
  • Overnight parking is not permitted in the Parking Structure.

Public Parking:

You may use City metered parking at:

  • The corner of Normal and West 2nd Streets
  • The downtown City Parking Structure at Salem and West 3rd Streets.
  • Both options are a short walk to campus. Be sure to bring quarters as pricing and time limits vary.

Disabled Parking:

Disabled visitor parking spaces require the display of a valid DMV placard. ADA stalls are located on the first floor; there is no elevator in the parking structures. Parking at a city meter with a disabled plate or placard is free.
