Orientation Daily Schedule
Students will have the option to attend Orientation in-person or virtually. Students select ONE of the two options when registering to attend a session. Below are schedules for both type of sessions.
In-Person Orientation Daily Schedule
Check-in begins in the Bell Memorial Union (BMU) Plaza.
Plan to arrive in advance and allow plenty of time for parking. Use this time connect with Orientation Leaders and meet new students. Light refreshments will also be served.
The Orientation Program begins in the BMU Auditorium for all students and their parents/guests. Receive a warm welcome from the University and kick start your Wildcat journey!
Students are broken into small groups by their major of study to learn about academic requirements to get on the path to graduation. Students will also tour the campus and gain other essential information about transitioning to Chico State. Parents and guests attend a separate workshop.
If you arrive after 9:30 a.m., you will be too late to participate in the Summer Orientation Program and refunds cannot be given.

Lunch in the BMU Auditorium- Students, parents, and guests lunch together. A resource fair of campus programs, services, and engagement opportunities will be available to all participants during this hour.
Students travel to meet their college representatives and overview of major course requirements and opportunities. Parents/guests have several choices of workshops during this time period.
Students travel to a computer lab to receive course registration instructions.
Finalize your semester schedule and receive support registering for your future classes from university staff. Parents/guests have several choices of workshops during this time period.
Orientation will conclude in the BMU Auditorium. Students, parents and guests all attend program conclusion with refreshments and an opportunity for any final questions.
Virtual Orientation Daily Schedule
Orientation Program begins for all students and their parents/guests. Receive a warm welcome from the University and kick start your Wildcat journey!
Students are broken into small groups by their major of study, and learn what it takes to graduate, explore general education, and gain other essential information about transitioning to Chico State, followed by a break.
If you arrive after 9:30 a.m., you will be too late to participate in the Summer Orientation Program and refunds cannot be given.
This is your opportunity to check out all that Chico State has to offer. A variety of campus offices and departments will be available via individual zoom rooms to provide information on resources and support services available to you.
Students will meet their college representatives and overview of major course requirements and opportunities.
Students will receive course registration instructions and prepare for course registration.
Finalize your semester schedule and receive support registering for your future classes from university staff.
Orientation will conclude with the Orientation leaders providing some final advice for future success and will be present to answer any remaining questions.
Notes:
- A detailed schedule of the full day’s program, for the parent/guest sessions and the student agenda, will be available to participants at the start of the session.
- Students are required to attend the entire program to be able to register for classes.
