Wildcat Warm Up Webinar Series

You are joining a vibrant campus community with a variety of resources to support you. We would like to highlight these programs and provide you an opportunity to learn about your new home. Throughout the summer months we will be offering a variety of webinars for you to discover a variety of opportunities at Chico State. Details on the webinars are listed below. All will be on the Zoom platform and are free of charge.

Campus Recreation 

This Webinar is for all incoming students and/or parents/supporters. Campus Recreation includes the Wildcat Recreation Center (the WREC), Adventure Outings, and Recreational Sports (Intramurals and Sport Clubs). Involvement in Campus Recreation has proven to help in retention and persistence rates for students, as well as overall health, well-being, and fitness. Come learn from Campus Recreation staff about how you can get involved in outdoor trips, competitive sports, or exercising. El Centro de Carreras y  Estudios en el Extranjero e Intercambio Nacional de Estudiantes

¿Te gustaría aprender más a cerca del Centro de Carreras o Estudiar en el Extranjero e Intercambio Nacional de Estudiantes? El 20 de agosto a las 18h tendremos un seminario digital informativo (webinar) en torno a los servicios que ofrecen estas oficinas.

La Universidad Estatal de California en Chico es una institución nacional que ofrece masters y está considerada como una de las mejores instituciones en EEUU para estudiar en el extranjero durante un año escolar! Estudia en 38 países de todo el mundo mientras que completas cursos para tu carrera, grado menor y requisitos de educación general. Puedes financiarte con asistencia federal y estatal, préstamos y/o becas para tu viaje! Descubre también cómo participar en programas como el de Intercambio Nacional de Estudiantes (NSE) dentro de EEUU durante un semestre o año.

Los orientadores del equipo de Estudiar en el Extranjero e Intercambio Nacional de Estudiantes estarán disponibles durante el webinar para compartir información sobre diferentes programas, asistencia económica, oportunidades de becas, precauciones de salud y seguridad, y para contestar dudas y preguntas específicas. El Centro de Carreras les invita a asistir la orientación de verano en español en donde aprenderá sobre los diferentes servicios que ofrecemos en nuestra oficina. ¡Adelante! ¡Querer es Poder! El programa de Adelante fue creado para apoyar a estudiantes Latinos y estudiantes de bajos ingresos, especializándose en ofreciendo programas de asesoría, promoción, investigación y preparación para estudios de pos grado. El programa de Adelante los ayudará a mantenerse conectados con estudiantes, los apoyará en sus cursos y estudios académicos, y les dará oportunidades para financiar sus estudios. Participando en el programa de Adelante es una oportunidad para conectarse con becas, oportunidades para trabajo en la Universidad, asistencia económica y mucho más. ¡Los esperamos para hablar sobre el programa de Adelante y para responder sus preguntas!

The incoming class of 2020 is facing a college landscape unlike that of any group in memory. While the future may seem uncertain, an exceptional first-year transfer experience awaits you at Chico State. As a transfer student at Chico State, you have the opportunity to take Connection Courses to fulfill your upper division general education graduation requirement and become engaged and connected—to your classes, your peers, your teachers, and your community while doing it! Get prepared for Summer Orientation: come learn about how the Chico State Transfer Connection Courses can support your successful transfer experience, and then talk to your Peer Advisor in your Orientation session to sign up!

Whether you are looking for a part time job (both on and off campus), internship or career position, the Career Center & Student Employment Office is the place for you. Not only do we help with your job search (using our awesome Handshake job platform), but we can help you prepare as well. From your resume and cover letter, to interviewing and establishing your online presence…we are her for you! Additionally, we offer FOCUS 2, an online tool to help you figure out our major and career interests.

The Associated Students: Your Epicenter for Leadership, Work and Play

Financial Aid, On Campus Housing & Parent Engagement

Where you are in incoming student or parent/supporter of an incoming student, come learn from representatives from Financial Aid, University Housing and the Alumni & Parent Engagement program. The presentation will cover types of aid, cost of attendance, accepting financial aid, ways to cover college costs, expectations of students residing in University Housing, meal plans, and ways that parents/supporters can be engaged to help your student transition to Chico State. A question and answer session will follow.
