Congratulations and Welcome to the Wildcat Family! We'd like to congratulate and welcome you and your student into the Wildcat family. As you support your student through this transition, we are here to help support you. You can also find information on student resources online.

Important Dates and Deadlines

June
  • Orientation and New Student Programs | Attend online or in-person orientation the same day as your student. Orientation will provide the information you and your student need to be successful at Chico State.
  • Parents and Families at Orientation | Informational webinars for families will give you the latest information throughout the summer. Find the schedule and more information here.
  • Financial Aid | Ensure your student has checked their portal for any outstanding financial aid requirements. Check out the financial aid website for more information.
  • University Housing | Find information about move-in dates and deadlines at University Housing, and find a list of items to bring (and not bring) to the residence halls online.
  • Accessibility Resources | If your student has an ongoing psychological or physical health condition, needs access to prescription medication, or has a documented disability requesting accommodation, contact the Accessibility Resource Center prior to arriving on campus.
July
  • Transcripts | Send final transcripts (PDF) by July 15. In order to make sure your student gets the right classes, the Office of Admissions needs an official high school transcript showing graduation date, and transcripts of any college work completed.
  • Student Center Access | Parents can request access as a guest user for the student center. If you would like access to your student’s educational documents and financial information, per federal law your student must authorize your access by completing FERPA (Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act) on their portal.
  • WellCat Health Center | Get familiar with WellCat Services, which include resources for students at the Student Health Center, Counseling Center, Safe Place, and WellCat Prevention.
  • Tuition and Fees | Don’t forget to pay tuition and fees. Get more information at Student Financial Services.
  • Equity and Diversity | Through equity, diversity, and inclusion, Chico State cultivates and nurtures a welcoming and inclusive campus where students, faculty, and staff have an equitable opportunity to thrive.
August
  • Employment and Careers | Check out the Career Center & Student Employment Office. Whether students are looking for a part time job (both on and off campus), internship or career position, the Career Center & Student Employment Office is the place for you.
  • Health and Safety Tips | Review safety tips for both on-campus (PDF) and off-campus (PDF) living.
  • Emergency Notifications | Both the city of Chico and Butte County use Code RED for emergency alerts to help you prepare for emergencies, be informed, and receive local alerts. Sign up for these alerts by visiting the county's Code RED website.
  • Order course materials. The Wildcat Store has everything you need to make the semester a success, including the textbooks needed for classes.
  • Get Involved | Students can get to know more about departments and campus resources at Wildcat Welcome!
  • Save the date for Alumni and Family Weekend
