Lindsay Briggs, Ph.D, MPH

Associate Professor
Dr. Lindsay Briggs is a tenured faculty member in the Department of Public Health & Health Services Administration (PHHA). During Lindsay's time here she has become involved in a wide variety of campus programs including as a participant in the 2nd cohort of Diversity Academy, as a Diversity Certificate trainer, as one of the two Safe Zone trainers on campus, has been the faculty advisor for the Student Health Advisory Committee, has served on several Health Center hiring committees, and participated in three Faculty Learning Communities through CELT. In addition, she has won the Conversations on Diversity “Walk the Line” award and the AS Gender and Sexuality Equity Center’s Harvey Milk Award for her activism on behalf of the LGBTQ community. Lindsay has served on the Faculty Recognition and Service (FRAS) Committee for the past 4 years, and was previously the department representative to the California Faculty Association for her department. Lindsay currently chairs the Faculty Recruitment & Library committees for the Department. Dr. Briggs is invested in the long-term health and stability of the University and is committed to utilizing her background and training in diversity issues and community activism to everything she does on campus. She actively and continuously works on her allyship so that she can strive to align herself with students, staff and faculty on a variety of diversity and inclusion issues, and is committed to ensuring that all perspectives are heard and reflected in the wider university system.
