Ryan Patten, PhD

Interim Dean, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences
Dr. Ryan Patten earned his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Washington State University. His research interests include campus policing, guns on college campuses, and fish and wildlife policing. He has also been a visiting professor at La Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid (2010) and Leuphana Universityät Lüneburg (2015). Dr. Patten currently serves as Interim Dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. From 2009 to 2014, Dr. Patten served as the coordinator of the Criminal Justice Program, and from 2014 to 2015, he was department chair of the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice. In 2017, Dr. Patten was a Fellow with the American Council on Education and worked with President G.H. Javaheripour at Yuba College.
