Pi Sigma Alpha hosted a booth at the Wildcats Vote Event on October 15th, prior to the midterm elections. At the booth, students could read about a ballot proposition, and then try to pin the tail on either the donkey or elephant to win candy. Hayley Finetti (PSA VP Membership) and Jen Kremer(PSA President) are pictured.
On May 3rd, the Upsilon Delta Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha held their annual banquet and initiation ceremony at Canyon Oakes Country Club. This year the honor society inducted 40 new members. This year’s keynote speaker and inaugural recipient of the Upsilon Delta Chapter Academic Leadership Award was Dr. Alan Gibson who delivered a talk entitled “Pi Sigma Alpha: Weaving Excellence in Education Back into the Our University Narrative.” Dr. Gibson’s address was by turns hilarious, insight-filled, and inspiring for this year’s cohort of honors students. This event capped off an incredibly active spring for Pi Sigma Alpha. A short list of their many activities includes sponsorship of an campus talk by Dr. Greg Weiner on the politics of impeachment, screening the film “American Totem” (produced by Chico State Professor Sue Hilderbrand) to 800+ students and community members, as well as, a coffee hour with Congressman Mike Thompson of the Fifth District, among other things.
