Subject: Approval for Center for Ecosystem Research (CER)

CENTER FOR ECOSYSTEM RESEARCH

Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate and with the concurrence of the Provost, I approve the establishment of the Center for Ecosystem, effective spring 2006.

The Center for Ecosystem Research will be housed within the College of Natural Sciences. The Center's primary purpose is to enhance competitive research of ecosystems and their biological, physical, and chemical components. The objectives are to facilitate collaborations among faculty, provide opportunities for faculty to explore scientific questions, and to work side-by-side sharing ideas, research space, and equipment.
