Subject: Approval of Significant Change to the BA in Liberal Studies
Upon the recommendation of the Academic Senate, and with the concurrence of the Provost, I approve significant changes to the BA in Liberal Studies. The structure, content and purpose of the program will not be significantly changed. Since 95% of the students in the Liberal Studies Program plan to pursue a teaching career, the changes will improve the preparation of future teachers by increasing their access to content knowledge. There will be no change to the total units required. These changes will be effective Fall 2011.
