Subject: Approval of a Minor Change to the BA in History

Upon the recommendation of the Provost, I approve a minor change to the BA in History. The History Department deleted courses and added new courses as well as changed the numbering of courses to update the History curriculum. These changes were incorporated throughout the program. General History Option - The title of the elective list Classical and Near Eastern History was changed to Ancient and Medieval History. Social Science Credential Option - The option was renamed the Social Science Pre-Credential Option. The number of history units was reduced from 28 to 25 by removing an elective list that included HIST 307 and RELS 358. HIST 307 was deleted, and RELS 358 was moved to its own Religious Studies section as a required course. The Behavioral and Social Sciences elective list name changed to the Social Sciences. The number of units for the major will not change. This change will be effective Fall 2013.
