Office of the President

Approval of a Minor Change to the BS in Nursing

Executive Memorandum 13-003 January 4, 2013

From: Paul J. Zingg, President

Subject: Approval of a Minor Change to the BS in Nursing

Upon the recommendation of the Provost, I approve a minor change to the BS in Nursing. The Chancellor’s Office has mandated a statistics course as a pre-nursing requirement and has changed the chemistry requirement from organic chemistry to general, inorganic, organic or integrated chemistry. In response to this mandate, MATH 105 is now required for admission to the Nursing program. Also, the Science Foundation section will now have 3 instead of 4 required courses, removing CHEM 108. The student will now select from CHEM 107, CHEM 108 and CHEM 111 to meet the chemistry requirement. The number of units for the major will not change. This change will be effective Fall 2013.
