Approval of a Minor Change to the BA in Kinesiology

Executive Memorandum 13-042 March 26, 2013

From: Paul J. Zingg, President

Subject: Approval of a Minor Change to the BA in Kinesiology

Upon the recommendation of the Provost, I approve a minor change to the BA in Kinesiology. This change affects both the Option in Physical Education Teacher Education and the Option in Movement Studies. The curriculum for both options is being updated by removing courses that haven’t been offered in the last five years as well as by adding KINE 151, KINE 153 and KINE 168 to the list of activity breadth courses. In the Movement Studies option, the Adapted Physical Activity Pattern is being deleted. This pattern was replaced with the new Adapted Physical Activity Minor. The Movement Studies students also are no longer required to have first aid and CPR certification, and these students no longer have a basic computer literacy requirement. The units for the major will not change. This change will be effective Fall 2013.
