Jan 31, 2017 - CSU Statement on President Trump's Executive Order

Dear Campus Community,

I would like to reaffirm that Chico State stands with the CSU and our sister campuses in our commitment to providing a safe environment for all of our staff, faculty, and students to work and study, regardless of background, religious affiliation, and nationality. The latest Executive Order imposing immigration and international travel restrictions has intensified anxiety and concerns throughout our state. In response, Chancellor Timothy P. White issued the statement below on Monday, January 30, 2017, on behalf of the California State University, 23 campus presidents, the California State Student Association, and the Academic Senate. I felt it was important to share this message with you.
Chico State will continue to seek ways to support any member of our campus community who is potentially impacted by travel or immigration restrictions. We also are developing plans to ensure ample opportunities for constructive dialogue. The sense of community and inclusivity that we value and demonstrate on our campus will not be diminished.

Gayle E. Hutchinson
President
CSU, Chico
