January 10, 2022 – Dr. Monique Sendze Named Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer
Dear Campus Community,
I am delighted to announce that Dr. Monique Sendze has accepted the inaugural position of Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer after a lengthy national search. I am confident Dr. Sendze possesses the knowledge, experience, and leadership skills necessary to build and lead our new division of Information Technology. She will begin her position on March 7.
Dr. Sendze comes to Chico State from Colorado School of Mines, where she serves as chief information officer and deputy chief operating officer providing strategic and operational leadership for the highly selective, top-tier University focused on engineering and applied science. She holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Organizational Development from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, and a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs.
Dr. Sendze sends the following comment to share with the campus community: "I am excited to be joining the very talented team at Chico State, learning and working alongside them to move the vision the leadership has set for our great institution forward in service to our students and the communities we serve.”
I also extend my deepest appreciation to the search committee for completing an arduous task on a very tight timeline.
