October 25, 2021 – CSU Chancellor Joseph Castro to Visit Chico State on November 2

Dear Campus Community,

California State University Chancellor Joseph I. Castro will visit Chico State on Tuesday, November 2, to tour the campus and meet with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and members of local media. We look forward to showcasing the transformative work of our entire campus.

Having assumed the CSU chancellorship in January 2021, Chancellor Castro is the eighth individual to serve in this role, the first Californian, and first person of color to lead the CSU.

As part of his daylong visit, Chancellor Castro will participate in an open forum, which all campus community members are invited to attend. The forum will take place from 11:15 a.m.– noon in Colusa 100. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be livestreamed on the Chico State website. The President’s Office will receive questions for the Chancellor in advance as well as during the live event. If you would like to submit a question for consideration, please send it to presidentoffice@csuchico.edu.

We are excited to welcome Chancellor Castro and share with him what makes Chico State a special and remarkable place among the 23 CSU campuses. We encourage the campus community to display Wildcat pride by wearing Chico State gear on November 2. In fact, the Chico State Wildcat Store will hold a one-day flash sale on October 28 for anyone who wants to add to their wardrobe prior to the Chancellor’s visit. Stop by the bookstore between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for 20% off one apparel or gift item.

Thank you in advance for giving the Chancellor a true Wildcat welcome!

Sincerely,

Gayle E. Hutchinson
President
