May 28, 2024 - Take Time for Yourself This Summer - Summer Learning Collaborative Starts June 3
Dear Campus Staff,
Each summer, the Professional Development Team in Human Resources collaborates across campus to create opportunities for staff and managers to learn new tools, improve processes, renew themselves, and connect with colleagues. I am excited to announce the Summer Learning Collaborative (SLC), which aligns with the Great Colleges to Work For® 10 core dimensions of employee engagement.
As you receive emails about SLC leading up to the June 3 kick-off event, I encourage you to share your learning goals with your manager. Ask them about expectations for the team and department for the upcoming year. Together, determine which SLC sessions and/or opportunities outside of SLC are most appropriate for you.
I hope you will take this opportunity and create an experience that is meaningful for you. The Professional Development Team suggests that staff and managers commit 10 hours to personal and professional development this summer as part of their regular duties. To improve our work climate and be better prepared for the new academic year, we all should invest time to strengthen our knowledge, toolsets, and relationships.
Don’t be surprised if I drop into at least one of these sessions. I am a lifelong learner, just like you!
