Wildcat ROAR!

Reach Out And Respond - Bystander Intervention Training

The mission of the Wildcat ROAR program is to provide campus community members with the knowledge, awareness, and skills to prevent student toxic drinking deaths and to promote a student culture of kindness, responsibility, compassion, and respect.
Wildcat ROAR! LogoThis campus-wide campaign educates students about the signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning and what to do in the event of such an emergency. Wallet-sized alcohol poisoning cards are distributed to all first year students at events and at CADEC peer educator programs. CADEC, in collaboration with peer trainers implemented the nationally recognized, Wildcat ROAR program (Formerly Red Watch Band) originated by Stony Brook and Northwestern Universities and now utilized by hundreds of universities across the nation. The Wildcat ROAR movement is an educational intervention led by peers designed to end alcohol overdose deaths by teaching students how to handle alcohol emergencies and summon professional help.
