Drug Free Schools & Communities Act

Annual Notification

CSU Chico provides a quality experience to students both in and out of the classroom.  In order to maintain a positive and effective campus climate, the use of illegal drugs and the use of alcohol are prohibited on campus and at campus sponsored events.

In compliance with Part 86 of the Drug Free Schools and Campuses regulations (PDF), all students and staff are provided each year with the following information:

  1. A description of the health risks associated with the use of illegal drugs and alcohol
  2. A description of the campus resources available to students including prevention and treatment resources and
  3. Applicable federal, state, and legal sanctions (www.dea.gov/divisions) and (www.abc.ca.gov/LawsRulesReg.html)

Biennial Review

In an effort to determine program effectiveness and consistency of policy enforcement, and to identify and implement any changes needed in either, WellCat Prevention conducts a review every two years.  This review covers the WellCat Prevention program and drug and alcohol policy and enforcement on campus.  A copy of WellCat Prevention's Biennial Review can be found here.
