Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT)

QLT Workshops

The Office of Faculty Development(opens in new window) is partnering with the Technology & Learning Program(opens in new window) to offer a series of workshops created around the Quality Learning and Teaching instrument(opens in new window).
These workshops will be held on Zoom(opens in new window) and are designed to meet core standards in the QLT instrument and are associated with deliverables that will allow you to fully redesign a course (or design a new course). While we encourage faculty to take them in this sequence, it is not necessary to attend them in this order. 

Fall 2021

**For those faculty who cannot commit to attending the whole QLT series, the workshops are open on an individual basis, but we ask that you register(opens in new window) if you plan to attend, so we can plan properly based on the number of attendees. These workshops will be offered again in the spring (twice), so if you are interested in applying, spring workshop dates will be shared later in the Fall semester.**

Payment: Payment is available for 25 faculty and consists of $500 in taxable income. Each workshop will be offered twice in Fall 2021. Faculty selected for compensation will be required to work with a faculty mentor and an instructional technology consultant.

Requirements for payment:

  1. Attend QLT workshops 1-5 in Fall 2021
  2. Complete all deliverables (Google Doc) associated with each workshop
  3. Work with and meet with a faculty mentor (at least twice)
  4. Complete a final course review. Please use this template. (Google Slide)

These requirements must be completed by February 18th, 2022.

Priority will be given based on impact on students and to those faculty who have not participated in FDEV/TLP training. If you have already completed the QLT program, you are not eligible for payment (but you are welcome to attend the workshops).

There will be a separate call in Spring 2022 for a new series of workshops and course reviews.
