Butte County Farm Bureau CDFA Healthy Soils Program Incentive Grant
Applications for Butte County Healthy Soils Program Incentive Grant are now closed.
Applications are in review and those who are selected will be contacted by Butte County Farm Bureau. If selected and funded, reach out here to our TAP team for implementation support.
Butte County Farm Bureau has been awarded a $5M grant to support Butte, Glenn, and Tehama county farmers who implement conservation agricultural practices that help build healthy soils. CRARS is helping applicants to apply, answer questions, and provide technical assistance.
Awards of up to $100,000 are being granted to implement on-farm soil health practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and store carbon in soil, trees, and shrubs. Free technical support is available to help farmers implement eligible practices.
Eligible practices include:
- Mulch
- Multispecies cover crops
- Range planting
- Compost Filter strips
- Reduced tillage (conservation tillage)
- Windbreaks
Socially disadvantaged and small farm applicants will be given priority.
