4th Annual Run Happy Bee Happy Run & Brunch

Ranch Resiliency and Range Steward Workshop

This event is the second in a series of Ranch Resiliency workshops in Susanville. It will focus on stockmanship through an emphasis on the principles and techniques of low stress livestock handling. The workshop will start with a classroom portion, followed by two options for hands-on work with cattle at Willow Creek Ranch.
Soil Health Event with Glenn County RCD + Colusa County RCD: Unruh + Kabir

Daniel Unruh will talk about cover crops, nematodes and orchard health, and give guests a demonstration of the Unruh crimper in action. Zahangir Kabir, USDA-NRCS, will give us a rain simulation that shows what happens to orchard soils with no cover crops and what happens to adjacent soils with cover crops.
Grassfed Exchange Conference

Fava Bean Nitrogen Fixation Trial Field Day

Fava bean is an ancient food crop that is extensively grown and consumed around the world. Several speakers will talk about the benefits and selection of cover crops for different cropping systems. There will be a demonstration field trial that aims to identify fava bean genotypes with enhanced nitrogen fixation.
