Student Research Assistant (PDF)
Under faculty guidance in a lab in the College of Natural Sciences, student research assistants will collect soiol samples and conduct soil sample processing and preservation, sample analyses, data analysis and organization, statistical analysis, table/figure building, results poster creation, and drafting of publication manuscript(s). Project Manager I: Research Coordinator (PDF)
This position provides project management support to the CRARS applied research program which includes a number of “at-scale” field trials throughout the western region. The successful applicant will provide day-to-day management and oversight of grant-funded, multi-disciplinary research activities conducted on multiple on-farm locations. Following guidelines and requirements of the funded program, the position will work with State and Federal agencies, researchers and project partners to ensure completion of research activities and administrative requirements of the project. Position is expected to contribute to ongoing funding and development efforts for sustainability of the Center (e.g., proposal development, leveraging and/or creating partnership and program opportunities). Rad Lab Student Researcher (PDF)
The student researcher position will assist in various projects and tasks led by CRARS through the Regenerative Ag Demonstration Lab (RAD Lab). Students will be valued members of a collaborative work environment where they will gain training and experience with safe and efficient lab workflows, soil and plant sample preparation and analysis, field sampling and data collection, and data handling and quality assurance, along with various other tasks as they arise. Students will work among a dynamic group of their peers, full time staff research associates, lab manager, Lab Director, Center Director, Faculty Principle Investigators (Pis), and other CRARS team members. UCOP Student Research Assistant (PDF)
Student will perform data analysis to identify fungal to bacterial ratios. By comparing the organisms that constitute soil cultivated with regenerative agriculture practices versus conventional, we can assess whether regenerative practices lead to the presence of more bacteria/fungi/archaea in soil that are associated with improved soil characteristics. Students will also be assisting with sample processing, data generation, data organization, statistical analysis, table/figure building, results poster creation, and drafting appropriate publication manuscript(s). Regenerative Ag Technical Assistance Provider I (PDF)
The Climate Smart Ag Technical Assistance Provider I (TAP I) will provide planning, design and implementation of on-farm/ranch conservation practices as a member of the CRARS conservation planning team. The TAP I will regularly interact and collaborate with producers, project partners and stakeholders to develop systems-based land management plans across all agricultural systems in California. Project Manager – Marketing and Product Aggregation (PDF)
This position will be responsible for the marketing and coordination of a grant-funded regional food hub. Following USDA, State or other guidelines and requirements of the funded program, the position will work with federal and state agencies, and conservation partners to provide farm-to-fork integration through marketing and sales support for climate-smart commodities. Project Manager – Data Management (PDF)
This Project Manager will perform data management duties and administrative support and coordination of grant-funded regional conservation planning and education programs as assigned. Following USDA or other guidelines and requirements of the funded program, the position will work with federal and state agencies, and conservation partners to develop and maintain program data collection and reporting tools; assist the Project Director to manage administrative aspects of the grant (e.g., project scheduling and accountability). Postdoctoral Scholar (PDF)
This full-time position will oversee and manage greenhouse gas measurements. The successful applicant will lead coordinated data analysis from eddy covariance towers in paired conventional and regenerative fields across three representative California growing regions (six towers total). Primary responsibilities include data management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results in peer-reviewed journals, but not eddy covariance data collection or tower maintenance, which will be performed by project personnel. In addition, the applicant will be expected to lead short-term field campaigns focused on collecting CO2, CH4 and N2O soil flux measurements from automated chambers in conventional and regenerative fields at the Chico University Farm (Sacramento Valley) location. Student Communications Lead (PDF)
This is a part-time position for a Chico State student to lead communications efforts for the Regenerative Ag Demonstration Lab (RAD Lab). Position will work with Lab director, staff, and students to identify topics for content development, and develop and curate content for dissemination across social media, lab website, and other platforms.
