Title 5 (PDF) is a document outlining rules and regulations which apply to all universities in the state of California. Title 5 outlines 19 rules which a student may be disciplined, including dishonesty, hazing, disruptive behavior, and other student conduct issues.
- Student Conduct Procedures
Student Conduct Procedures(Revised 06.5.25) is the most current document outlining the regulations surrounding the student conduct procedures. These are policies which govern how Student Rights and Responsibilities (as well as other departments on campus) will handle alleged violations.

- Alcohol, Tobacco, and Substance Policies
Executive Order 1108 (Systemize Smoke and Tobacco-Free Environment) places restrictions on the use of tobacco, nicotine, and related products on California State University Campuses.
Executive Memorandum 25-006 (Alcohol Service at Special Events) (PDF) places restrictions and regulations on the possession, consumption, service, and sale of alcohol on Chico State campus property and at Chico State campus events.
- Electronic and Digital Use Policies
Executive Order 0999: Illegal Electronic File Sharing and Protection of Electronic Copyrighted Material(opens in new window) restricts California State University hardware and software from being used to commit copyright violations.
Executive Memorandum 24-029 (PDF) outlines Chico State students' rights and responsibilities as they pertain to computing and communications technology.
- Academic Integrity Policies
Executive Memorandum 25-014: Policy on Student Academic Integrity and Establishment of the Student Academic Integrity Council (PDF) defines Academic Integrity and its counterparts, cheating and plagiarism. It outlines the responsibilities that students and faculty have to maintain academic integrity and avoid cheating and plagiarism.

The CSU is committed to preparing students to use AI tools effectively and ethically while earning their degrees and in their careers beyond graduation. The following are some examples of AI use as a CSU student in your courses, but provided you have engaged with your instructor about how the tools should be used in the course.
- Student Privacy Policies
FERPA is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records.
Executive Memorandum 22-026: Student Privacy Rights and Student Records Administration Policies and Procedures Document (PDF) is a Chico State document which details a student's right to the privacy of their education records, as well as procedures surrounding the maintenance and release of those records.
- Free Speech and Advocacy Policies
Freedom of Expression the California State University (CSU) is committed to free expression as an essential component of its educational mission. To support and achieve that mission, the CSU must maintain an environment where its work can be conducted without disruption, in accordance with the highest standards of institutional integrity, and with recognition of the rights, privileges and responsibilities of university community members and members of the public.
Interim Systemize Time, Place and Manner Policy seeks to facilitate freedom of expression while protecting the right of students and employees to learn and work in a safe environment. The policy provides system-wide standards to determine the time, place, and manner of activities on university property, and sets forth consequences for violations.

- Amnesty Good Samaritan ProtocolAmnesty Good Samaritan Protocol (PDF) is a Chico State document which details the University's commitment to students that are in need of assistance in the form of a medical response and/or as alleged victims and witness of sexual misconduct and incidents of hazing.
- Student Organization Conduct Process
Student Activities serves as CSU’s updated, systemize framework for addressing discrimination under federal and state law, including Title IX compliance.

Food Security: Access to nutritious, sufficient, and culturally appropriate food for all individuals.
Housing Stability: Access to secure, stable, and affordable housing options to prevent homelessness and housing insecurity.
