WellCat Safe Place

To Faculty and Staff

Safe Place is here for the entire Chico State community — and that includes you.

Whether you're seeking support for yourself or looking for information to assist a colleague, Safe Place offers confidential, compassionate services for all faculty and staff. We understand that reaching out can be difficult, and we’re committed to meeting you where you are. Advocates can meet with you on or off campus to help maintain your privacy and comfort. Your safety, dignity, and confidentiality are our priorities.

How to Schedule...

If you're comfortable with our front desk staff knowing that you're seeking services, please follow the instructions provided on our homepage. Our front desk team, who primarily work within the Counseling Center, are trained in confidentiality and practice discretion at all times.

However, if you have any concerns about privacy, you are welcome to contact Safe Place staff directly by email. We're here to support you in the way that feels safest and most comfortable for you.

What Services Can I Utilize?

Safe Place offers all the same services to faculty and staff that we provide to students. Here are just a few reasons you might reach out to a Safe Place advocate:

  • Consult about filing a restraining order
  • Court Accompaniment
  • Sexual Assault Forensic Exam Accompaniment
  • Safety planning
  • Receive crisis support or simply talk things through with someone who understands

If you're unsure whether we can help, please reach out anyway. We're here to listen, support, and connect you to the resources that best meet your needs.

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you ever reach out to Safe Place and are sent to a voicemail box or find that the office is closed, please know that support is still available. We encourage you to take the following steps:

We understand that harm doesn’t follow a schedule, and we never want our availability to be a barrier to getting the support you need. While we strive to be as accessible as possible, these alternative resources are here to ensure you're not alone and can still access care and advocacy when you need it.
