What is Denim Day?
In 1999, an international protest began when the Italian Supreme Court announced an overruling over a sexual assault conviction. During the original trial, the jury found the person on trial guilty but was later overturned. The Supreme Court noted that the jeans the individual harmed was wearing was to tight and difficult to remove and therefore, the person on trail could not have sexually assaulted the individual without their help.
