The Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC)

  • Mission: We are a California State University, Chico council that serves as a liaison between the student body and the WellCat Health Center to provide advise regarding policy, procedure, and budget
  • Vision: To advocate for students and to promote overall wellness on campus

About SHAC

  • The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is a committee of students, staff, and faculty that advise the University on the delivery of health programs and services on campus with the goal of enhancing student health and wellness. SHAC advises the Executive Director of the WellCat Health Center and the vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA) on matter such as: the scope of services offered and their delivery, hours of operation, fee-for-service charges, mandatory health fees, annual budgeting, and other critical campus health issues.

Student members will:

  • Make policy recommendations that help ensure health and wellness services provided by WellCat Services are supportive of academic success
  • Review and make recommendations on the WellCat Health Services Fee budget
  • Recommend policy that promotes equitable and fair access to health programs

Meetings

  • The SHAC meets once a month during the academic year to accomplish its goals. Dates to be announced.
