What You Can Expect
Welcome to the Chico State Student Learning Center, where academic success is our top priority! Our center offers a variety of sessions and resources to support your learning journey. Here's what you can expect from the sessions available at our Student Learning Center:
Subject Tutoring
Need help in a specific subject? Our subject tutoring sessions provide personalized assistance. You can schedule weekly appointments to meet with a small group of peers and experienced tutors who will guide you through challenging concepts, answer questions, and help you master the material. Click on the subject you are looking for help with above, or in the navigation menu, and check out the options we have available for that subject.
Supplemental Instruction
Enhance your understanding of course material through our supplemental instruction sessions. These sessions are tailored to specific classes and are scheduled based on the session schedule for the course you're enrolled in. Drop into these sessions to review key topics, reinforce understanding, and engage in collaborative learning with fellow students.
Writing Center
Improve your writing skills with the help of our dedicated writing center. You have the option to make one-on-one appointments with our writing tutors, who will provide valuable feedback and guidance on your writing assignments. Additionally, we offer the convenience of online submission, allowing you to receive feedback on your writing remotely.
Math Learning Lab
Struggling with math? Our Math Learning Lab is the perfect place for you. With drop-in sessions available Monday through Friday, you can receive assistance with various math concepts. Our knowledgeable tutors will be there to help you work through problems, clarify concepts, and build your confidence in math. Check out the full schedule using the link below.
Study Skills Workshops
We understand the importance of effective study techniques. That's why we offer study skills workshops throughout the semester. These workshops cover a range of topics designed to enhance your study habits, time management skills, note-taking techniques, and more. Please be advised that the availability of SLC academic subjects for tutoring is contingent upon the tutors we have recruited for the semester. Consequently, certain courses may not currently offer tutoring. Nevertheless, the writing center extends its services to students across all disciplines.

Study Skills/Class Presentation
The SLC is now accepting requests to facilitate Study Skills Workshops in your classes and for on-campus programs. Our Study Skills Workshops are 50-minute interactive presentations centered around academic and life skills. We also offer a 10-minute presentation about the SLC's services. If you are interested in requesting one or more of our workshops, please fill out the form below. We will reach out to you to confirm the date, time, and topic.
